This week Travis & Chris are breaking down episodes 6 & 7 of season 7 of Walking Dead. They weren't too impressed with Tara's "oceanside" adventure, but loved the following episode which brought back all the main characters they care about (i.e. Rick, Negan, Carl, Darryl). They also talk about the latest news on Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite and why there's some bittersweetness to it. They talk a little about the new Guardians of the Galexy Vol 2 trailer, as well as the new Mummy trailer which is a part of the new Universal Monsters cinematic universe. Enjoy!

Travis & Chris are back again recapping episodes 4 & 5 of Walking Dead season 7! They give their thoughts on on what's going on in Alexandria and Hilltop, who's plotting against Negan, how nobody should f$#@ with Jesus, and crazy fan theories.
They start the show off with recent pop culture news on Cars 3, Metallica, Ghost in the Shell, Deadpool, and more!

In this episode we're on Easy Street as we recap the 2nd and 3rd episodes of Walking Dead season 7. We talk all about the arrival of King Ezekiel and the Kingdom, how Carol & Morgan are getting along, and what they may be planning for Negan. In episode 3, we discuss what's been going on with Darryl and the psychological torture he's going through in Negan's camp, the relationship between Dwight & Negan, and how that might end up being a good thing for Rick & Co.
Before all that, we talk about some exciting news about Young Justice, Nintendo, Dragon Ball Super, Mass Effect, and just what does death metal music & Ned Flanders have in common.

Travis & Chris share their thoughts on the much anticipated season 7 premiere of Walking Dead! They discuss the season 6 cliffhanger, Negan (and of course JDM), Lucille, Rick, and of course...the kills. They also talk about how intense the tone of the episode was throughout and end the show asking what show has more intense moments like this: Walking Dead or Game of Thrones?

This month 20 years ago, the Transformers brand was turned upside down by the debut of a new show called Beast Wars!  Travis & X celebrate (and get a little nerdy) by taking a look back at this groundbreaking series that found a way to move forward with the franchise yet tie it in perfectly with the established continuity of the 80s.  They discuss characters, story, cast of voice actors, and overall tone of the series.  From there they talk about some of the funnier moments and gags found throughout the series.  There were also a few deaths in the series, and they go over which ones meant the most.  They also talk about the spectacular season two finale, The Agenda, and all the great moments from it.  They wrap up by trying to countdown their top 5 episodes, but seem to have trouble doing so.  If you were a fan of Beast Wars or grew up in the 80s with Transformers, you’ll love this episode!  If you didn’t, well check it out anyways, maybe you’ll want to check it out afterwards.

In this episode, Travis, Chris, and Scott the Scot give their review of Suicide Squad.  They give their thoughts on what they were able to see on Joker, Margot Robbie’s portrayal of Harley Quinn, as well the other characters that played well and which ones they didn’t like at all.  They go into detail about the soundtrack and how it was used in the film as well as the editing & pacing that affected the final cut.  They look at the critical reviews the film has received so far and how much of that is the fault of the movie as well as the problem of comparing DC movies to what Marvel is doing.  They wrap up by talking about the upcoming Justice League as well.  This is spoiler heavy review, so if you haven’t seen the movie yet, please go check it out before listening to this episode. In this episode, Travis and (Professor) Xavier are back to review X-Men: Apocalypse!  This does contain SPOILERS so if you haven’t seen it yet, fair warning!  We take a look at how this movie pulls from the source material (sorta), and if it works on the cinematic side of things.  This movie brought in a slew of new/returning characters such as Psylocke, Cyclops, Jean Grey, Nightcrawler, and of course Apocalypse himself.  Is the character of Apocalypse a thankless role?  Why were people laughing?  Just what are his powers and how does he get them?  As cool as the Wolverine scene was, something took us out of the moment.  Everyone seemed to love Quicksilver again, but how could he have been better?  What did they rip-off from a DC TV show?  This was an interesting movie, so we had lots to talk about!  Check it out and enjoy!

In this episode, Travis & X give their take on the two big comic book films of 2016 that’s pitting hero against hero and see which one is better, DC’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice or Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War! (Beware of SPOILERS!)

 

For BvS, they hit on all the highs & lows of the film such as Ben Affleck’s Batman, Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, Lex Luthor (ugh!), mothers named Martha, a Justice League setup with a nightmare sequence and superhero cameos, and of course the ending of the film.

For Civil War, they obviously talk about the much anticipated Marvel Studios debut of Spider-Man!  They also cover other hits of the film like Black Panther’s debut, Ant-Man’s big surprise, making Hawkeye purposeful, Vision & Scarlet Witch, and of course all the action scenes.  Travis had some reservations about the villain, but X makes some sense out of it for him.

In this episode, we conclude our spotlight on the Alien movie franchise by covering the 2012 film, Prometheus.  In what was supposed to be a quasi-not-so-much-prequel to Alien, Ridley Scott takes us back to the world of space exploration, evil corporations, and alien lifeforms that like to kill.  We break down what worked and what didn’t work, the cast and characters involved, and what the point of the movie is all about, or at least we try.  After that, Xavier gives a good breakdown of the original script and how much different (better) it was than what we got.  Travis gives a rundown of how well all the Alien films did at the box office, and then read out a few of our listener’s favorite Alien films.  This is an awesome finale to our spotlight, so check it out and enjoy!

In this continuation of our huge ALIEN franchise spotlight, Travis & Xavier go deep into the controversial Alien 3 along with the fourth installment of the original series, Alien Resurrection!  They take a look at all the behind the scene production drama from Alien 3, and the differences between the theatrical & production cuts and try to make sense of why they killed off certain characters.  They also ask the really important question: Does Ripley look good bald?!  After that, we make a case for whether or not Alien Resurrection is a good film or not.  With Joss Whedon attached it can’t be bad, right?  Ripley’s got hair again & acting strange, Ron Perlman wants to get in her pants, and the xenomorphs can communicate and swim now.  Oh, and its got Winona, so it’s gotta be good, right?  Hit the download button and find out!  Our huge spotlight continues next week as we cover the AVP films!
