Monday Dec 28, 2020
Monday Dec 28, 2020
In this episode, Travis and Chris are back to finally review the smash-hit Star Wars live-action series, The Mandalorian. Yes, spoiler alerts ahead! They start off by giving their overall thoughts of the show from their own perspectives, followed by a breakdown of season 1 including thoughts on “the Child”, building their own lore, and how smart it was to try to distance themselves from the main Skywalker Saga. After some praise for Jon Favreau, they go into the characters, the cast who plays them, the landscape of the show, and closing on a high note of a finale. For season 2, they get right into all of the huge moments that made this season even better than the first. From the live-action debuts of Ahsoka Tano and Bo-Katan, to the redemption story of Boba Fett, to the ultimate surprise in the finale, they touch on just about everything that they liked from the show. They wrap up by trying to figure out where they go for season 3 and if it’s time for a shake-up to the status quo. This one took a little longer to come out, but it’s a good one, so hit that download button and enjoy. This is the way.
I have spoken.

PCR Rewind #36 - Back to the Future
Friday Jul 03, 2020
Friday Jul 03, 2020
Hey buttheads! In this episode we celebrate the 35th anniversary of the classic film, Back to the Future! On July 3rd 1985, Robert Zemeckis brought us a film that changed the way we look at time travel. Things get heavy as we discuss the impact the franchise has had on pop culture over the years, as well as the cast, crew, characters, the fashion, and of course all the wibbly wobbly timey wimey stuff (that's right I said it). So grab your Pepsi Perfect, put up your hover board, undo those power laces on your NeeKays and load up your copy of the movie as we do our own running commentary while we watch it! Great Scott!

PCR #128 - Revenge of the Clone Wars
Monday May 25, 2020
Monday May 25, 2020
In this episode, Travis breaks down and reviews (with spoilers) the final season of Star Wars: Clone Wars. He spends a little time recapping the first two story arcs, which deals with the "Bad Batch" of Clone Troopers, followed by the return of Ahsoka Tano and what happened to her after she left the Jedi Council in season five. The real detailed review starts with the final four episodes, which deal with the "siege of Mandalore". He goes into detail of how these episodes have a unique tone and style different from the rest of the series, the improved voicework, a new technique used in one sequence, and how it all ties-in to Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. He wraps up by giving his final thoughts on the season as a whole and the mastermind behind it all, Dave Filoni.
Download it, enjoy it, and "may the Force be with you. Always."

PCR #127 - The Different Seasons of Stephen King
Thursday Apr 23, 2020
Thursday Apr 23, 2020
Stephen King may be the master of horror, but in this episode, Xavier and Travis take a look back at some of his best work that shows he’s also a master of character stories as well. They discuss and breakdown three adaptations from the book “Different Seasons” which you may have heard about: SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, APT PUPIL, and STAND BY ME. They take a look at the cast from each of them, the characters, what worked for the movies and what didn’t translate very well, a connected universe within the books, the memorable moments and scenes, how they were received at the box office, the lasting effects of growing up with Stand By Me, and much more. They wrap up by ranking all three movies and getting a little sidetracked by some talk about IT (both the 1990 and current versions) and how Pet Sematary possibly caused psychological damage to X back in the day. If you’re a fan of Stephen King or just a fan of Stand By Me and/or Shawshank, hit the download button and enjoy!
